A House Concert with
Hans York & Tobias Langguth
April 15, 2016
When you have talented friends, fantastic things happen! We have long enjoyed visits from Hans York who never travels without his guitar and always spoils us with background music and mini-concerts. On his last visit, he brought along Tobias Langguth, who added his electric guitar to Han’s acoustic for an incredible sound!
Please join us Friday, April 15th at Krystyna’s house at High Hope Ranch for a house concert.
Potluck Dinner starting at 7:00 PM, bring a healthy dish to go along with the fresh greens salad we’ll have ready.

Hans & Tobias met for the first time in February 2016 at the Dallas Greyhound Station. They both share not only many friends and musicians dating back to the early 80’s but also the love for Brazilian music, which became obvious the first time they played together.
German-born, national touring, award winning singer songwriter Hans York has quickly made himself a name as an extraordinary DADGAD player and strong, engaging performer with a distinctive style and an irrepressibly delightful and approachable manner. His intimate voice draws comparisons to Paul Simon, Sting, Kenny Rankin or Michael Franks and captures the audience with its honesty and clearness.
He accompanied Robert Palmer on German TV, toured as bass player with the New York Broadway Ensemble, played with US national Scottish Fiddle Champion Jamie Laval all over the US and in Scotland, toured throughout Europe with master harp player Rüdiger Oppermann, and performed a Concerto as Soloist on fretless bass with the "Ars Quittilinga" Chamber Orchestra. (Concerto written by contemporary East German composer Thomas König) Hans York co- founded the German Worldmusic cult band Moka Efti and recorded three CDs with them. The third album, “Fata Morgana” features US saxophonist Charlie Mariano and producer/saxophonist Heinrich von Kalnein (Vienna Art Orchestra).
Tobias Langguth is a mainly self-taught guitarist who was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1957. In 1979, he started his career as a professional musician performing bebop and modern jazz styles of music.
He went on to play in many different bands like Joe Wulf’s Gentlemen of Swing, Jan Jankeje's Mobil Jazz Band, Acoustic Avenue, and performing with solo artists like Viviane de Farias, Hans "João" Limburg, and Ignez Carvalho, to name a few.
Beyond that, he developed a deep interest in Brazilian music. This inspired his own compositions in which he combined Brazilian bossa nova and samba with jazz and fusion styles. From 1988 on, he has had his own band publishing various albums. In 1999, he discovered his interest in singing and the Portuguese language. Consequently, he started with his own interpretations of the world famous bossa nova hits. In the meantime, his long-established interests in rock'n'roll, blues and country style music have also revived. Today Tobias Langguth offers a highly flexible mix of jazz, rock and bossa nova.
